Applying to Oxbridge in 2023 or 2024?

The universities of Oxford and Cambridge are generally considered to be two of the most prestigious universities in the world. Competition for places on courses at these universities is typically very high, with only around 18% Oxford applicants and 20% Cambridge applicants securing places. 

Thinking about applying to Oxbridge? Here is a summary of the steps students may have to take to make an application to Oxford or Cambridge:

  1. Register with The UK Universities and Colleges Application Service (UCAS).
  2. Write and submit a unique Personal Statement.
  3. Submit previous and predicted national examination results (e.g. GCSE results, predicted A Level results).
  4. Get an Academic Reference from one referee.
  5. Sit a National Admissions Test (e.g. LNAT, BMAT) if required for the chosen course.
  6. Sit a pre-interview Oxbridge Assessment (e.g. ELAT) if required.
  7. Sit an English Language Assessment if required.
  8. Send off ‘Submitted Work’ if requested by the university.
  9. Sit an at-interview Oxbridge Assessment if required.
  10. Attend an interview.
