Supporting British Values

At Seven Springs Education, we are committed to supporting schools in fulfilling the Department for Education’s ambition for “all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.”

Our Work
Democracy

In online classes, we promote democracy by teaching students about the importance of listening to other people’s opinions and critically evaluating ideas. When appropriate, our tutors will also integrate information about the UK political system and upcoming elections.

Rule of Law

Our tutors encourage students to use their moral intuition and think carefully about what actions are right and wrong. Our Behaviour Policy and Statement of Behaviour Principles is also used to ensure that students know what is expected of them, how they will be treated fairly if a disciplinary issue is to arise and what consequences there may be for their actions.

Individual liberty

In online classes, students are encouraged to make their own decisions and think independently. Tutors are trained to help students to build their confidence and our Child Protection and Safeguarding policy provides clear guidance on how they should act to protect students from infringements on their individual liberties and rights, such as from bullying or abuse.

Mutual respect and tolerance

In online classes, we promote mutual respect and tolerance by teaching students about the importance of listening to others and not speaking when others are speaking. Our company’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policy also outlines our ambition at Seven Springs to create an environment that promotes mutual respect and tolerance of those with different practises, faiths and beliefs.
